CONNECT: A Family Workshop
On February 26-28, the Fairlane Youth Ministry is hosting a weekend workshop with David Baker from Savannah, TN.
About David: David is the Preaching Minister at GracePoint, a church of Christ, in Savannah. He is also a Ministry Coach through DB Ministry Coach. With almost three decades of experience in leadership, ministry, higher education and business, David uses his background to help leaders, churches and organizations serve more effectively. David is quick to say that he is grateful for the ways God brings people together to achieve great things for His glory. Those who know David well describe him as charismatic, driven, empathetic, engaging, experienced and kind. He is a creative visionary who takes interest in those he meets because of a genuine desire to know them. These qualities help him serve well as an educator, minister, businessman, husband and father.
About the Workshop: There will be spiritual content and team building exercises in a positive and encouraging environment for teens and parents both. Not to mention FREE food throughout the weekend.
On Friday evening, starting at 6:30pm, everyone will meet together with David in the Fellowship Hall for Session 1, which will be a welcome to the workshop and a time of worship.
On Saturday, we will have a full day of content. Breakfast will be served at 8:00am in the Fellowship Hall, prepared by Jeff Floyd and his crew, followed by a Session at 9:00am. In this session, parents of teens and children will meet with David in the Fellowship Hall. Free childcare will be provided during this session in the main building and will be led by Abby Burton. The teens will meet in the Annex with Michael.
Next, we will have a break from the content, followed by Lunch at 12:00pm which will be provided by Harding University. Following lunch will be our next session at 1:00pm, where the teens will meet with David in the Fellowship Hall and the parents meet in the Annex with Michael.
Next, we will have our last break, followed by our next session at 4:00pm. For this session, everyone will meet together with David in the Fellowship Hall. We will end the night with Dinner at 6:00pm which will be provided by Freed-Hardeman University.
On Sunday, we will have a wonderful morning together as David preaches for us and teaches a combined Bible class for teens through adults afterwards.
We need you! In order for us to receive the most benefit possible from this workshop, we need each parent and student to commit to being there, if at all possible. In order to fit into the puzzle, you have to be with the puzzle. Come and connect with us!
