Sunday Morning Guys Class
Our Guys Bible class on Sunday mornings, is using “The Bible Project,” a video resource, to help spark interest in the story of the Bible and encourage the reading of the Scriptures.
Last week, we watched and discussed “Old Testament Overview: Genesis.”
Today, we will be watching and discussing “Old Testament Overview: Exodus.”
Upcoming Events For FYM Students
On August 13, Fairfield church of Christ will be taking a group on a White Water Rafting trip. Fairlane students are welcome to attend and participate in this fun event. More details to come.
DATE CHANGE!!! Our annual Fall Retreat has been moved from November 11-13 to October 14-16. This event will still be hosted at Taylor Christian Camp in Kentucky. It is an event from students in the 6th-12th grade, college students, and adult chaperones. This is a wonderful event in which students can deepen their faith through taking time to be alone with God, worship, group discussion, fellowship, and so much more. Go ahead and tell your friends to save these dates! We are currently working on lining up our guest speaker and planning a theme for the weekend. More details coming soon!
Moments With Mary-Alice
Here’s a quote I wanted to share with you from the book we have been working on in class.
“The Bible is not a book about lovely, perfect people. It’s a book full of the most messed-up people of all generations, and yet God moves through them. God has been in the business of taking the foolish things to shame the wise and taking the broken, imperfect people to display His glory.” Sometimes our darkest moments lead us to our greatest impacts. May we let God use all that we have.
We wanted to end the summer with a big celebration, so all the youth girls are invited to a pancake and pj slumber party at the Shavers’ house. It will be on Thursday, July 28th, starting at 6:00pm! Please let me know if you plan on attending and invite your friends!
On August 6th, Kay Parker and Dianne Clay are hosting a luncheon for the youth girls. It will be from 11 am to 1 pm on that Saturday! Hope to see you there! Deadline to sign up is July 31st !
Thursday, July 28th, all youth will have the opportunity to serve at the Shelbyville Soup Kitchen. It will be from 3:45pm – 5:30pm. Let Michael or Mary-Alice know if you can go serve.
