It’s pretty easy to get knocked around in life. We make mistakes. We say the wrong thing. We allow negative thinking to flood our thoughts. We sin. We mess up. And we can begin to think that we are not worth much. We begin to think that no one really cares. We can buy the lie that God isn’t concerned about us.
Don’t buy the lie. Instead, let Scripture remind you who you truly are…
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10)
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14)
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
“And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” (Romans 8:17)
“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:15)
You are more loved than you will ever know. You are of infinite value. You have priceless worth. You have a purpose. You have a future. You are wanted. You are stronger than you realize. Don’t forget who you are. You are a child of God, heir to His Kingdom and a friend of God. There is no greater identity than that!
