Rich Howell has been the pulpit minister and evangelist for the University City Church of Christ in Gainesville, Florida for the past eleven years. Prior to moving to Florida, Rich’s full-time ministry experience has included serving as a youth minister, several years of mission work in Argentina and preaching in two multi-cultural congregations in California, his native state. Rich and his wife, Janet, are fluent Spanish speakers and both have experience teaching Bible classes in Spanish, as well as English. Rich has preached and taught in conferences, global campaigns and mission efforts in five Latin American countries, most recently in Honduras.
Rich has directed Christian youth camps, writing the curriculum for many of the sessions. He has directed and participated in VBS programs, and organized an array of campaigns, workshops and church events. In his ministry at University City Church of Christ, Rich has served as the coordinator of the small groups ministry, served on the adult education committee, and three years ago started a Sunset Satellite School of college-level Bible courses, along with his other ministerial duties. Rich enjoys making visits and doing personal Bible studies, and is not hard to persuade to have lunch or coffee with leaders, members or visitors! Rich is trained in the Prepare-Enrich system of pre-marital and marital counseling, and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
