John 11:43-44 tells us, “When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “take off the grave clothes and let him go.” This is the end of the story of Jesus performing the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead and many of us have heard this numerous times. I want to ask the question that applies to us today, how simple can our Lord’s commands be? This illustration is like many in the New Testament where Jesus gives simple commands and miracles follow. The application for us today is a simple one I think, we need to be sensitive and trusting in our prayer lives. When we feel that simple command tugging at our hearts we need to follow it because a miracle for someone or an immense blessing for us could be right around the corner!
