Preaching Minister: Lance Bennett

Bennett graduated from Lipscomb University in 1994 with a dual major in Accounting and Economics/Finance. Prior to joining the ministry, Lance worked as a CPA at KPMG, Nissan, and local accounting firms in Chattanooga, TN and Tallahassee, FL. In 2010, Bennett obtained his Masters from Harding University. In addition to Riverside, Lance has served as youth minister at the Timberlane Church in Tallahassee, Florida and East Brainerd Church in Chattanooga.

The Bennett’s met while attending Lipscomb and were married on July 16, 1994. Misty is the the School Counselor at Cascade Middle; and their son Davidson, 18, is in the Twelfth  grade. Lance enjoys reading with a hot cup of coffee, cooking, college football and classic movies. As a family, the Bennett’s enjoy board games, family dinners, and entertaining family and friends.

Youth & Family Minister: Michael Rector

Michael comes to us from Kingston, TN where he served as the Youth Minister for the Kingston Church of Christ for almost 7 years.
 
Michael married his wife Kate in 2012 and they welcomed their first child, John Michael, in June of 2017.  Since moving to Shelbyville, they have welcomed their second child, James, in May of 2021.  The Rector family loves living in Shelbyville and working with their new church family.  

Michael enjoys sports, boating, coaching, video gaming, watching movies, reading, and taking on minor home improvement and building projects.  Nothing excites him more though, than seeing young people give their lives to Christ and grow in their faith.

Ministro, Iglesia De Cristo: Luis Olivo

Luis worked as a yacht Captain in Miami Beach, Florida, where he also served the Lord as a member of the church and was a Bible study teacher. Prior to that, he served as an Evangelist and Preacher at the High Pointe Iglesia de Cristo in McKinney, Texas. 

Luis attended the Texas International Bible Institute in Spanish where he received his Bachelors in Biblical Studies. He also obtained his Masters from Abilene Christian University in Christian Ministry. Esperanza also attended the Texas International Bible Institute. She is currently leading a women’s ministry of over 2,800 using Social Media.

Luis met his wife Esperanza in Miami Beach, where they married on May 15, 2004. Their son Jacob, 17, is attending Freed Hardeman University and is a freshman there. Both Luis and Esperanza enjoy evangelizing and helping people see how God works in their lives. Luis enjoys deep sea fishing, scuba diving, boating, jet skiing, and a cup of espresso.
